I’LL BE WATCHING YOU: INSIDE THE POLICE 1980-1983
A PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION BY ANDY SUMMERS JULY 24-AUGUST 14

TORONTO, CANADA (July 18, 2007) – Tommy Hilfiger presents the “I’LL BE WATCHING YOU: INSIDE THE POLICE 1980-1983” photographic exhibition by The Police guitarist Andy Summers. The exhibition will be the fifth of seven world stops and opens Tuesday, July 24 continuing through August 14. The exhibition will be on display in the Edward Day Gallery with free admission.

The limited edition book, “I’LL BE WATCHING YOU: INSIDE THE POLICE 1980-1983”, and Summers’ autobiography, “One Train Later”, will be available during the event. Limited edition prints offered through Rockaarchive.com will be on display and available for purchase in three sizes: 12×16”, 18X28” and 40×63”.

Beginning in 1980, Summers documented The Police, behind the scenes in a series of candid and striking black and white photos. Possessing a visual gift for composition and mood allowed him to capture the spirit of The Police more intimately than anyone else.

Summers, one of the most prolific guitarists of all time, is now in the midst of The Police sold-out tour celebrating their 30th reunion. Andy Summers heralds his return with a biathlon of photographic output: an exclusive photographic exhibition in five cities, which have been produced by HP on its new HP Designjet Z3100 Photo Printer series, and a book published by Taschen. The gallery shows, presented in conjunction with Rockarchive.com began in June at the Laurie Frank Gallery in the famed Los Angeles art complex Bergamot Station, and will be followed by similar exhibitions in July at Newbury Fine Art in Boston and Gjethuset in Denmark.

The Edward Day Gallery was established in 1992 and represents both Canadian and International emerging and award-winning senior contemporary artists. The collection is comprised of sculpture, painting, drawing, photograpy, printmaking, and other media. Located in the heart of the Queen Street West Art District of Toronto, the Edward Day Gallery is located at 952 Queen St. W. Suite 200 Toronto ON M6J 1G8.
