Borders for reasons unknown cancelled the signing the night before the event without explanation.
Andy was extremely upset and apologizes to all those who turned up.

It now sounds as if Borders of Oxford St further have compounded the
problem by lying about it. Once again apologies.

One Train Later Book Released

Filed under: News — moxsum @ 7:43 pm

In Stores October 3, 2006

In this intimate, revealing work, Andy Summers writes fluidly about his first guitar, his experiences with earlier bands, his relationships and encounters with Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, John Belushi, and The Police, and more.

Less-known is Andy’s early musical career in the U.K., where he achieved moderate fame. But after Andy ended up in California, ultimately finding himself out of work and teaching lessons, he returned to England, where serendipitous circumstances found him on a train with Stewart Copeland. The rest was history. This is the moving, gently (and often acidly) funny memoir of a premier guitarist who ultimately found himself at the top of the world.

Fender To Release Andy’s Telecaster

Filed under: News — moxsum @ 7:43 pm

Limited edition release planned for 2007

Fender guitars has pain stakingly studied Andy’s custom Telecaster that he used as his primary guitar with the Police. With it unique pickup configuration, hardware, electronics and maple neck, Andy’s Telecaster is one of the most easily recongnizable guitars in the history of rock and roll. Fender plans to release the guitar as an aged replica down to every last scratch and wear mark.
